Never Again: Story of the Chubs

Ok, like I'm doing on my other website, www.libbythedogforums.tk, every week I will put a section of my story, Never Again, it is a story about, Libby as a chub. Libby goes through many hard things in her life, but knows in the end it will never happen again.

Long ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, a creature called the chubasaurus came into existence. It was a chubby, yellow, fuzzy dinosaur. Soon as every ancient creature did, the chubasaurus evolved, into a civilized group of creatures called chubs, their kingdom was named Chubland. Chubs looked like dogs, Labrador Retrievers, a type of dog. Although they looked exactly like the Labrador Retriever, the chubs acted, talked, walked on two legs, and had hair like humans, (they had hair, plus fur like dogs.) The chub had evolved into a not-so-chubby animal, infact many were thin, and few were chubby or fat. the chubs had grown to become allis with the puds, a species of cat-like-creatures, they were as cat like as the chubs were dog like. Although the puds were allis of the chubs, not all chubs had a liking to them. The chubs also had enemies, the anti-chubs. The anti-chubs looked like fat, pink rabbits. They were almost savage like, and were no where near as strong as the chubs. What kept the anti-chubs from invading, and what kept the chubs so strong was the Chub Challess. A cup with several gems in it, each one standing for an element, fire, ice, water, earth, sky, life, and peace. The Chub Challess stood on a tall mountain, the mountain that divided Pudland from Chubland. If any gems were to fall out of it, (the worse case would be all would fall out) then the anti-chubs could attack the chubs, the challess protected the Chubs. Finally, the chubs made a language, several to be specific, Chubinese, Chubish, and Chubin. The chubs used 'chub' in many words, such as chubet, a female chub (only a formal use, females can also just be called chub) and a chublet, a young chub. The chubs ruled by a monarchy, and soon the royal title was passed down to Queen Jessica. Jessica married a warrior-prince and gave birth to a beatiful baby girl named Alice...
Stuffed Anti-Chub Dummies lined the Vicket house. A young chublet named Alice jumped out of a bush and threw a stick at one of the dummies, knocking it over and making its stuffing fall out. “Ha-ha!” Alice shouted in joy at the site. Alice had always been interested in wars and battles and dreamed of what it would be like to be a soldier. For now, pretending was fine. Alice’s mother, Queen Jessica walked out of the mansion’s blue door. The door creaked and shook, cracked swooshed, as it always did when the queen used it. Jessica looked down at the muddy, dirty chublet that would surprise anybody, it was hers. “Look at you! You’re a site even the poorest of poor couldn’t bear to see!” She scolded. Off with you! I don’t want to see you until supper! Is what the queen might usually say, or Don’t dare come near my house! But tonight was different, tonight was the royal ball. Jessica you not let her seven-year-old chublet go unless she was as perfect as the Chubinese honeydew flowers in spring. Now, Alice really didn’t care if she couldn’t go to the ball, but her mother thought otherwise. All the royal chubs in Chubland would come to this ball, and Jessica wanted her daughter to be perfect for them. If everything went well and her daughter looked perfect, their family would have a very good title. And everybody would think things like Did you see that Vicket family, they are very polite! Their daughter is so neat and nice! Unlike her mother, Alice didn’t like all that girly stuff such as makeup and dresses. She enjoyed playing pretend and exploring.

Alice sadly sat in the carriage, squeezing her fists, waiting to go to the ball. Each little bump or dent in the dirt road, which was worn from ancient hooves, the horses caught. Click, clack, click, clack, and thump, thump, thump! Alice’s dress was so tight a pin couldn’t take her place in wearing it. Her make up was itchy and scratchy and her hair was in such a tight bun that Alice couldn’t help wince. The carriage stopped like a deer in headlights, and Alice was that deer. Her eyes go big, and she froze. Her mother’s whisper broke the silence, “Sweetie, it’s time.” Alice slowly got up. The coachman opened up the carriage door. What lay ahead was a red carpet, entering into a big room filled with chubs and chubets. “Watch out! It’s muddy and slippery.” All these words were to Alice though, was a blur of sounds. Alice was paying too much attention to the ballroom. With one giant step Alice slipped on the muddy ground, and then landed in it. Alice’s mother screamed, everybody turned their heads to the muddy chublet and her blushing mother. Alice looked up at her mother weeping. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” She cried out. Alice’s mother’s face was getting redder by the second. Alice couldn’t tell if she was mad or embarrassed. Alice closed her eyes to await a brittle scold. But what happened was even more shocking than Alice thought the scold would be. Her mother started to laugh! “Look at you!” Her mother giggled, “You are a muddy chublet!” She laughed out loud. And soon everybody was laughing, including Alice. Alice had a good time after all!
